The Young British Soldier by Rudyard Kipling

The Young British Soldier by Rudyard Kipling

Don't misunderstand this blogg. I, like most Southerners support our boys over there in that desolate land of Afghanistan. I did however stumble across this poem just after 9-11. Alexander The Great took on these tribes. The British were there. Kipling gives some glimpses of their struggles. The USSR took them on. With a little help from us they failed. Now we are there. If the poem looks too long, read the last eight lines.

You wonder if history will repeat itself again?
