He swore that it was the truth

I had a professor in college form West Virginia. He talked about how steep the hills are in his home state. Since there is not that much cultivatable land there, some people were forced to put their gardens on the hillsides. He claims that his neighbor was plowing one day and to the man's shock and amazement his mules fell out of the garden!

I especially like the story about the chickens!

Now that we live in the "High Country", I can believe this story. A man told me the other day his uncle was helping give birth to a calf on the side of the mountain. When the calf came out, it rolled half way down the mountain before they could catch it. They still haven't found the uncle.

Since you mentioned it, there was this kid who walked up on a man who was delivering a calf. The kid said "Mister, how fast was that calf going when he hit that cow?
